Thanksgiving Traditions

For as long as I can remember, Thanksgiving has always been my favorite holiday. It’s my favorite because I always get to see family I don’t see often, I love to eat, and it feels like the kick off to Christmas.

The older I get the more into Thanksgiving I become because I get to host and cook for it. I love to cook. I will try out new Pinterest recipes and try to get them picture perfect. For the most part I’d give Martha a run for her money.

Here are some of my favorite traditions :

1) Family – My family has always been the most important thing to me and spending time with them is the best. We laugh and we cry, but most of all we have a ball. Literally just hanging out either playing games like spades or dominoes. Some watch football and other just relax and enjoy each other’s company.

2) Food – I know, Thanksgiving is a lot about the traditional feast. Everyone once and a while, we switch it up and add a Mexican flare to ours. Enchiladas, chimichangas, and rice & beans. Yum! We still have most of the traditional foods when you think of Thanksgiving. It’s nice to make it our own.

3) Christmas Parade – For almost my entire adult life I’ve been attending the Grafton Thanksgiving/Christmas parade. This is generally the Saturday after Thanksgiving. My daughter for the last 7 years have been in the parade either for Girl Scouts or Cheerleading.

We also watch the Macy’s Thanksgiving parade on TV on Thanksgiving. Seeing all the floats and huge balloons is always so exciting.

4) Thankful Game: When I would host I’d buy a banner that was blank to fill out and ask everyone to take one and write down something they are thankful for. Then we’d hang it up and read them. It’s fun to see what everyone would write.

Shop the Thankful Banner here.

I know my husband and I can not wait for pumpkin pie. Last year I made this delicious Pumpkin Cheesecake recipe. It was so quick and easy.

What are some of your Thanksgiving traditions? When I was a kid we would eat and then go bowling. Maybe that’s something I need to bring back.

Are you cooking or hosting? I have the year off from hosting, but I am in charge of the Cheesy potatoes and spinach artichoke dip.

Have a fantastic Thanksgiving!! I am beyond grateful for all my followers and taking the time out of your day to read my blog!

Fashion, Food, Family & Football – The only F’s I’m giving

In honor of Thanksgiving this week, I wanted to share my outfit inspo. For me, any excuse to dress up is a win for me. While other family members are all about comfort, Glam is my answer.

This outfit is actually one of my favorites to date that I’ve shot.

This top is $10!! It comes in 7 other colors and runs XS to L. It’s got stretch to it (which allows you to eat as much as you’d like) and I love the lace detail in the sleeves. The added balloon flare down the forearms adds trend and elegance.

I paired the top with jeans to casual down the look. However, you can certainly wear it with black slacks or a pencil skirt to dress it up and wear to work.

But these shoes are my favorite. I love the transparent trend with the cap toe. These shoes can literally go with any outfit and they add a little edge.

Imagine a graphic tee, chunky cardigan, jeans and these chunky heels. So cute!! You will see these shoes on repeat for sure!

I’m linking my outfit details here. The top I’m wearing a large and shoes I would size up a full size.

I can not wait to see everyone’s Thanksgiving looks. And as I always say, have fun with it and take risks.

Do you dress up or stay comfy casual for Thanksgiving?

While shooting, I had the pleasure of seeing the 35th floor Sky Deck and Social Lounge at 7Seventy7, the amenities here are incredible just like the view!! The lounge is available to rent for any of your social events.
